The enigmatic Hairy Lemon Traditional Irish Pub & Restaurant was christened in memory of one of the city’s great characters who was a dog catcher in the 1950’s. He was reputed to boast a lemon shaped visage and a stubble of gooseberry like hair.
This most enjoyable drinking establishment is just about as unconventional as it’s namesake. Even the 19th century house in which it resides is a little ‘outside-the-box’; with years of memorabilia a sitting room suspended in mid air, High Nellie’s, wellies and even Granny’s Kitchen, the block buster film ‘The Commitments’, lives on in the Hairy Lemon Pub. Many scenes were filmed using the snug and bar counter from the pub. Unknown to itself, the Hairy Lemon has become one of Dublin’s Trendiest Pubs.

Great food, service and a friendly atmosphere, but watch out for huge crowds at the weekends.

Terrible staff with a very unhealthy inclination of leaving your change where you have to go looking for it.

Wonderful staff and service, we arrived early for our booking but it was no trouble for the staff, we have returned here twice on our annual Christmas trip, it has become a favourite place to dine and relax over some super food. Thank you for making our experience one that makes me want to leave a review, I never usually do this.
Great Christmas night out,

delicious food, excellent service and very good value.
Great Food, Super Staff, Highly recommended!
As usual, lovely staff, food and atmosphere...Good food portions too, a bit pricey though...We were not very impressed though when we were told we should have included a service charge as we were 6...Either it is included in the bill or not but it was quite rude to say it in my opinion!!!

Arrived for 5pm. Plenty of seats then. Ordered a steak sandwich 8oz. It arrived, but I had to search through the lettuce leaves to find what can only be described as a pitiful size of meat.

Wife ordered potato skins with cheese and bacon filling which came oozing of grease.
Will not be returning.
Great all around pub experience. Nice looking place with multiple rooms and floors. Just kinda interesting looking, i thought. Also, good drinks, food, and service. Yes, we're tourists, but they made us feel welcome. We'll definitely go back next time in Dublin.

I have been there many, many times for lunch and I like the fact the menu is always different; they now have a 5.95€ lunch menu which is great value. The all-day veggie/ Irish breakfasts were delicious and huge: 10.95€ included tea or coffee: Will deffo recommend it! The staff is always very nice especially with tourists, most appreciated.
