Samphire is a dining concept brought about by the pressing need for more diverse restaurants in the North Dublin area. Our mission is to deliver “Classical French Cuisine with a Modern Irish Twist” in a setting with spectacular sea-views.
More than being just a catchy name above the door, I wanted the restaurant name to relate both to the menu and our setting. Samphire is one of my favourite vegetables and it literally grows on our doorstep here in Donabate. One of our managers suggested Samphire, in that instant I knew we had the perfect name.
We strongly believe in supporting businesses in our community and where possible we source all of our ingredients locally including fish, vegetables and meat. With many Fingal famers now growing & producing vegetables & foods that could only be sourced abroad, it is now viable to source a greater portion of the food locally than just a few years ago. We are privileged to have a special relationship with some local farmers such as Brian Carrick who grows seasonal crops required by our menu’s on a plot of land reserved especially for Samphire.

Nice wine list and good value,
We had the set 4course menu and no issues with the choice on the menu or indeed the size of the portions. We had pate and fish cakes for starters, followed by rack of lamb and salmon.
Staff were attentive and polite, and overall I was very happy with the experience.
Try it you won't regret it.
My boyfriend book this as it was were we first met! I have to say i was blown away both by the food and service !!!! Food was amazing, and service was outstanding! certainly great value for money, have been to fine dining restaurant at a lot more expense. this is without doubt my top fine dining experience!!!!
I was looking forward to my visit to Samphire because of the great reviews I have read and am delighted to say I was not disappointed! The food is amazing. I had risotto for starters and pheasant for mains, both delicious with quite generous portions. We were also given bread (cute little loaves) before our meal with olive pesto and butter which I couldn’t resist. The service was by far the best we’ve had in a while. Our waiter (Tibor!) gave excellent recommendations and was both friendly and courteous. There is also a great sea view if you’re lucky enough to get a window table. The only downside for us was the lack of atmosphere but this may be down to the quite night we were there. Would highly recommend
We were in the area and Samphire was listed on our dining card so we booked for Sunday lunch. Well, what a treat! From the delightful dining room with fabulous views ( we got a window table) to the impeccable service and unusual table decor, it was a very pleasant setting. And the food was faultless - really excellent. Our dining offer was valid on the Lunch menu which is very good value for top quality cuisine. Pâté, samphire, chicken, butternut squash and more - everything was super. Looking forward to returning when we are that way again.

Amazing culinary experience, service impeccable and food Michelin quality. Could not fault anything about our meal in this wonderful restaurant, presentation and taste of food excellent and attention to detail superb. Would highly recommend same, fantastic value for money, we will be back.
I've heard it said of many places but Samphire truly is a hidden gem which we only discovered through our stay at the waterside house hotel. The fact that we didn't see an empty table in the place either at lunch, dinner or anywhere in between is testimony to the fine food and equally fine service! The amuse bouche of crab with lemon mousse and grapefruit jelly was a lovely start to the meal, as were the freshly baked, warm selection of mini loaves of bread. The menu was great value at €30 for 3 courses – all of the food was presented beautifully and tasted fantastic. For an intimate bolthole from city life I can’t recommend this place enough.
Dined in the Samphire whilst on an overnight stay in the hotel. This is a small, cosy restaurant and it was particularly enjoyable the night we were there as there was a raging storm outside. Service was prompt and staff very pleasant. We loved the freshly baked miniature loaves of bread that were brought to our table -you get these whether you are having soup or not. Our meals were delicious and presentation was top class. and it was such a pleasure not to have to stick our noses outside afterwards. Definitely worth a return visit.

we had dinner here last night for my daughters birthday. There were 10 of us. the restaurant had been highly recommended and we were looking forward to a high class meal at a reasonable cost. We all agreed that the food was good but not exceptional. 3 of the main courses were cold when they arrived and the pork was particularly fatty.

The desserts were terrific and the service was good. We might go back but there are too many restaurants offering similar and better out there.
On new years eve.we had a fabulous meal in the Samphire Restaurant .From start to finish ,the food was amazing ,while the restaurant was busy ,the service was excellent ,the staff were so friendly and cheerful and were very helpful with the menu ,my friend is coliac and the waiter was very helpful to her in choosing her dishes . The presentation of the food was a masterpiece ,and tasted so.....good.

If you want fine dining at very reasonable prices,you must try Samphire in Donabate.

The Restaurant is part of the Waterside Hotel.
This was my second visit within a month and have booked again for just after Christmas.
Although its a little far out from the city,the hotel will do a deal to include B and B
This is Michelin star food.
Have a good selection of wines
If this restaurant was in Dublin City centre it would take months to get a reservation.
