Okra opened its doors in 2009 on Howth harbor and redefined what fine dining was all about. Today, Okra means different things to different people - a restaurant with just the right ambiance, a place to be seen at or, more importantly, the best place for a Pakistani cuisine.

Over the years, we have experimented with ingredients and recipes and perfected the art of cooking and serving. Even as we add a few new dishes to the small, select menu our patrons often return for their favorites - whether it is our unique style of grilled Tandoori prawn’s. We continue to set ourselves higher standards, both in the quality of food we prepare and the way we serve it...

Great food served at a perfect pace. Good reasonable wine list. Thoroughly enjoyable

Went for my birthday and we used the online voucher. The food and service were fantastic, plenty on the plate and nicely presented. I liked the mix of 'Western' music mixed in with Pakistani tunes playing in the background. Service was great. Would go again.

This is a great local restaurant. I have been here 2 or 3 times as I live in the area and the food is gorgeous. It has never disappointed. Service has always been very friendly also. The only thing that lets it down really is that there are rarely a lot of people here (often happens with somewhere local) which means atmosphere is not always brilliant - not bad at all but not brilliant. Don't let that put you off though, the food cannot be beat!

I thought overall the food was very nice, however service was a bit patchy by times. Had bought a menupages deal and was disappointed to find terms and conditions that weren't called out on the voucher itself, any prawn or seafood dish was an extra €3. I did have the prawns to start and they were tasty but it really should be made clear in the t&c's.

We had a voucher from menupages but I was told there was a €3 supplement on the prawn starter and all of the fish mains which was not the voucher's terms and conditions which was slightly annoying. I went for the prawn starter anyway even though there was only 3 on the plate they were very big and very tasty full of flavour and cooked well. My girlfriend had the duck spring roll starter which was also very nice very thin flaky pastry and a lovely filling. The mains too were lovely maybe could have done with a bit more meat but the chicken in the jalfrezi was delicious and I got a cheese naan on the side which was very nice also. The meal was finished with pistachio nut ice cream which was also very nice and not too sweet. The décor in the restaurant was nice it was a little dark but the seats were very comfortable. All in all a good experience

Bad service, hardly any meat in the dishes! Best part was the over priced wine

I've ordered a take away from this restaurant in the past and I wasn't overly impressed but decided to give the dine-in experience a shot. Unfortunately my opinion has not improved as a result of my visit last Friday evening. The first thing that struck us was that the restaurant was uncomfortably warm, so we asked if the air-con could be turned on. I have to say our waitress was extremely helpful but no sign of the air-con. Our starters arrived very quickly (we hadn't even finished the poppadum's) but they were delicious so no complaints there. However the mains did leave quite a lot to be desired, Chicken Tikka Masala was very pale and creamy and not spicy at all, definitely more like a Korma. The Jalfrizi was nice and spicy, however only THREE prawns made it an awful lot of sauce and very little substance! This is certainly not a budget price restaurant and the food definitely does not justify the top-end prices. Unfortunately we will not be returning here for take-away or dine-in again.
