The Independent Pizza Company opened in the summer of 1984 and recently celebrated 25 years in business in Drumcondra. In 2002 we moved a few doors down the road to a bigger custom built location from where we now operate.

The Independent Pizza Company is a casual neighbourhood pizza restaurant where you can relax, chill out and enjoy yourself without feeling too worried about the size of the bill at the end! Our concept is to deliver top quality Pizza, at reasonable prices, in an unpretentious and casual setting. Our Pizza style is American – light crisp bases with traditional & contemporary topping combinations that suit all tastes.

Most of our menu and, of course, all of our signature pizzas, utilise our stone pizza oven which was imported for us from Washington State in the USA. These pizza ovens are regarded as the best in the world and we believe help us create outstanding pizza bases. Our pizza dough is freshly made every day, on the premises, using just five ingredients: flour, water, yeast and small amounts of salt and sugar.

All ingredients are bought in fresh & prepared in our kitchen unlike other competitors who import frozen ingredients.

We buy the best produce available and we have excellent relationships with our suppliers- some of whom we have been dealing with for 25 years. Our baked ham for pizzas is from Cork, our pepperoni is made in Dundalk, Hicks in Dun Laoghaire supply sausages and our chicken wings are from Kettle Foods in Fermanagh. All our vegetables are delivered daily from local suppliers and our Irish & European cheeses come from Glenealy Foods in Dublin.

We also provide a great take away service and pizza take & bake service where you can order your pizza par-cooked ready to finish off in your oven when required. We operate a 10% loyalty discount for take-away pizzas where the 10th pizza purchased on your loyalty card is free!

Food was great, the girl serving our tables was very pleasant. The only issue we had was that I booked for a table for 11 people, 2 weeks in advance. On arrival we were seated in 2 booths. The manager said he had told menu pages that it would be 2 seperate tables. We only found this out when we arrived. We were very dissapointed as we were looking forward to going out as one group. We would have went elsewhere if we had know we weren't going to be sitting together.

Great value for money if you go for the lunch menu. Especially lovely pizzas. Plenty to choose from.

We all descending on this restaurant for lunch for a birthday celebration. The group was big and all hungry.
The food was great and all but one meal came promptly... the staff fed us well.
2 course meal with a drink and a cupan tae after, €23, not too shabby.

This has been a regular for us with the kids for years - it can be a bit hit & miss. This occassion we were seated just inside the door - it's much nicer down the back. The pizzas are top notch but on this occassion I felt a bit rushed - the service was a little too fast. However they very kindly changed the wine we chose when I realised it wasn't what we wanted even though there was nothing actually wrong with it - kudos there! I will of course be back - book early to get one of the booths down the back if possible!

Food was great and I got to bring home the rest of my pizza. Nachos are very filling too.

Nice pizzeria. Tasty and good choice on the menu. Wines by the glass are great, with a pleasant atmosphere in the place generally. Reasonable value. Would go back.

Ate with a friend and her family. Received a warm welcome from the manager. One girl who served us was pleasant whereas the guy who served us should learn how to smile. Food great and tasty and wide choice on menu. I would return again.

No idea why this place is so popular. Although the pizza is cooked in a wood oven it doesn't taste it. The bases are flat and almost biscuity, nothing like the proper pizzas you get in Italy. Very rude staff, they brought us the wrong food not once but twice, didn't apologise and charged us for a side order they didn't bring us. Would never go back.

Great pizza and lasagne! The staff could be a bit more friendly when the place gets busy however. The restaurant can sometimes be very stuffy when it gets busy. A great place for food regardless of that however!

Great pizza, nice friendly atmosphere. Maybe slightly overpriced but probably worth it overall. The Chinese Duck pizza is particularly good!
