Lovely family restaurant with lovely service and excellent value for money. Reminded me of being on the continent - would highly recommend it to everybody!

A combination of the bank holiday bus strike and a recent review in the SIndo prompted us to give the local Filini's a go and we were not disappointed. Although small and cafe-like, the staff are very welcoming and friendly and the food was great - served at just the right pace. Will definitely go back.
Having read the really good review in the Sunday Independent, we (a group of 5 people) decided to go here for Mother's Day.Upon arrival we felt it looked more like a cafe than a restaurant but i would say don't judge a book by its cover as the food was very good. The Pomodoro Bruschetta to start was really tasty. My dad had the calamari which was also so tasty and a very generous portion. We had pizzas, seafood pasta, chicken in mushroom sauce and spaghetti bolognese all of which were full of flavour and we thoroughly enjoyed.I would certainly return and recommend.

went here with a friend who raved about the place, but have to say was v disappointed.Although the staff were really nice, the service was really, really slow. There was only one table occupied when we went in (7.15) and another one came in about an hour later.. The food when it did arrive was enjoyable, but the bill came to 75 euro for a couple of pizzas, some starters and house wine.. I know it's not really expensive, but I've got better for less. I will go back, because I expect it was teething problems. My friend had been there a number of times and said it had never been as poor as that night. So i expect my next review to be better

I have eaten here a few times and am delighted to have found this little gem in Deansgrange. The prices are great, so pocket friendly and the food is even better! I love having the Arancini to start, they are so sumptuous and bursting with flavor. I always go for the margarita pizza with buffalo mozzarella, it's gorgeous and I never fail to finish a full one to myself, The Tiramisu is so rich and to die for and the ice cream is lovely too. I'm in love with the interior, it's simple but feel really authentic. The restaurant is named after the famous director of 'La Vita Bella' Federico Fellini and his pictures hang on the walls, I absolutely love the wine bottle lights and I'm pretty sure the tables are recycled doors! I'm becoming quite the regular at this lovely little restaurant.
