At Elephant & Castle reservations aren't taken, but the waiting staff are more than happy to come look for you in the pub across the road. This is the perfect spot for a long, leisurely brunch - be sure to sample the to-die-for chicken wings.

Having been a big fan of elephant and castle for a long time, it had been a few months since my last visit. We managed to get seated quickly on a Friday evening however we we disappointed to find out that the food standard seems to have dropped drastically - my wife ordered the usual, the wings and chips while I ordered the cheese burger. The wings have gotten so much smaller over the years (some barely have a bite of chicken in them) and were dry while the burger was underdone (I asked for well done) and tasteless, with a scattering of chips on the side. To top this off I got a cider that had to be sent back as it was out of date. V disappointed as it was clear that standard have dropped and food is simple getting pushed out in busy times (not an excuse as it was always a busy spot but that never effected quality before) nnService was good but I really hope they get the food quality back - unfortunately it has put me off from going to my once favorite city center eatery again.

I visited wirh my family. After a wait of 45 minutes we got a table. Good atmosphere and good buzz. My family mostly had burgers and one member who has a wheat allergy was well cared for with a well presented allergy chart. My daughter had the fillet steak and loved it. I had the chicken caeser salad.. I would not rate it as being good. The caeser sauce tasted like salad cream. I did finish it as I had not eaten all day but I wouldn't repeat the order. The server wasn't overly friendly. She made a couple of snide remarks. I would return because everyone else loved their food and it is a great atmosphere.

The food was lovely. Why did I not give it a 5 star rating only because thats what I would give the top Restaurant in the city. The wings are simply the best comparable to if not better than Tribecca. Main was a burger which was juicy tender and tasty. Portions were generous and they coped really well with a table of 11. Staff were 8/10. Some could do with faking a smile or two. Despite the large party size there was no wait for food. Everything was very comfortable and enjoyable.

The food was great. I had ribs and then a burger with blue cheese sauce. It was all cooked well and tasted great! The only issue was the attitude of a couple of members of staff. However, I've been there a number of times and the staff are usually really helpful so I wouldn't let this stop me going back! Also the food is reasonably priced when you consider the high quality and portion size, so it will remain a regular on my list.

went herh on Saturday afternoon the place was very busy and it was not too long before we got a table , We started with the chicken wings which is a sharing dish for two, no portions for one , The wings were very good and spicey and plenty of them for two .Next I had Lamb roast and my wife had a Burgerwith chilli The Lamb was a very small dish with very little meat and one round potate cake and three asparagus sticks and Beetroot Jus, The Lamb was nice but I can say it was not worth the money while the potatoe was horrible the beetroot was straight out of a jar of beetroot .My wifes Burger was just ok but the chips that came with it were awful I have never seen chips like them before overcooked and hard .This place is only good for the Chicken Wings therest is overpriced rubbish .Wewill never go back to The Elephant and Castle again

I am a regular at Elephant and Castle simply because I love their chicken wings. It has a great atmosphere but the only downside is that it is always very busy and you cannot make a reservation so you either have to sit and wait or come back later. This can be quite frustrating when you are hungry and I have ended up eating elsewhere on those occasions.

Really nice spot for Sunday Brunch. The Eggs and Apple Benedict was really good. We were a group of eight and the staff were forthcoming in accommodating us.
