We visited on a Sunday evening, the restaurant was cosy and welcoming. The food was delicious and very good value. We went for the set menu that came with a bottle of wine, the wine was good for a wine included in the price. We live in Donegal but visit the area often and will definitely be back

We have been here several times but this was our second successive disappointing experience.
Atmosphere: lively and pleasant until the live music started. Great singer for a smoky bar or café but annoying for this venue. Our table was in the corridor beside the bar which was very busy and too small for the passage of waiting staff & other customers.
Food: fantastic fish starter for two & enjoyable main course and dessert. White wine was not chilled and even having brought it to the attention of the waitress, her solution was more ice in the wine cooler. Eventually another waitress exchanged the bottle for a chilled bottle. Potato dish was warm in the centre and cool on the outsides. We requested it to be heated and it was warmer but some of the potato was hard and uncooked. They gave us Green Tea instead of Mint Tea to finish. Not sure the waitress appreciated our feedback even though she said thank you.

Just tried the early bird menu in Bijou. Three of us had the lemon and thym chicken. The chicken was extremely dry, the chips were cold and chewy and there was big two lumps of garlic butter on the side. Would not recommend going here!

This place has the balance perfect! Relaxed and friendly but with a lovely sense of chic. I really enjoy the food which I've always found thoroughly enjoyable. As a place for a relaxed, quiet meal, I love it!

We regularly have gone to Bijou but on this occasion it was a complete let down. We went as a party of 4. Firstly we waited 45 mins for our main courses. the food menu has changed and I think the chef too. I ordered chicken which came with chips. The chips were stone cold. I mentioned it to the waitress who gave me some boiled potatoes instead. My wife ordered the whiting and there was a bone in it - luckily she did not choke. food is below average. One of the waitresses walked straight into the back of my mother in laws chair while holding far too many empty plates. my mother in law was pushed in against the table and hurt herself. waitress asked her was she ok and she said no not really. the area was over packed with people and they seemed to fit in as many as possible into one small area of the restaurant. The guy sitting behind my mother in law was sitting on a corner of a table and this was clearly the reason the waitress could not get by so I do not blame her but the restaurant. We mentioned it to the manager on the way out , his name was Martin, and I informed him that it was against health and safety to setup the restaurant in this way with no room for waitresses to pass. She could have accidently put hot drink over my mother in law. He just smiled at me and said thank you for raising this to his attenion. He seemed not too bothered with the problem. I took a photo and have reported it to the restaurant authority as clearly this place does not take things seriously unless they are escalated in this way it seems.

What can I say, this place is lovely. Staff well knowledgably on all aspects. Great location; parking can be problematic but we managed with a car-park a short distance away as all street parking was taken, next time a taxi will on the cards. Superbly decorated. Food; you get exactly as ordered. Early Bird portions are perfect. Wine list is extensive.
